- Get to know your audience
A common thing to see on Twitter is people advertising items just by posting links. This is definitely not as effective as actually communicating with people. To effectively market items through Twitter, you have to build up a network of people / potential customers with which to sell to. If people know you and begin to trust you, they are more likely to buy products you advertise.
- Market products or services that your followers need
The most common mistake with any form of marketing is choosing to promote a product or service that your audience does not want or need. Therefore, carefully research what your target audience needs before sending out tweets that promote anything.If you are not sure what they need, then you can even ask them. Talk to your followers and ask them what kinds of products or services would make their lives easier. Make a note of what they say and then find products or services that solve the problems that they are facing.
- Choose quality over quantity
As we stated earlier, it is important to get to know your audience. Adding hundreds of followers using internet tools designed to do so will not help you in the long run, it is better to have a few potential customers than a hundred ‘nobody’s’.Why? Because those who you do not have a real relationship will not really take that much, if any, notice of your tweets. So, instead of working solely to boost your follower count, work on interacting with your existing followers.
By following the above guidelines you can join the many, many other people who are making money on Twitter right now. You will probably not make any money for at least a few weeks, but within a month, if you do things properly, you should see some money coming in. Within a few months, you should be earning enough to pay for your vacations, and within a year you may well be earning enough to give up your full-time job.
